
The Anwar Ibrahim Legislative Internships (AILI) seeks to develop a cadre of future leaders committed to social justice, good governance, ethics & democracy.
The programme is divided into three cohorts coordinated with the Parliamentary Calendar, with each cohort will undergo at least two months of internship.
Program Components
Each cohort will experience seminars, stakeholder meetings, field excursions as well as health & personal development programmes.

Parliamentary Researchers to the Leader of the Opposition Office, conducting a workshop on parliamentary procedure with AILI interns.

The first AILI cohort visiting Astro AWANI broadcast studios, as part of AILI media engagement programmes.

AILI interns will also serve in grassroots work and community organizing to inculcate a sense of social conscience.

Interspersed throughout the AILI Programme are wellness and personal development activities such as this hike-cum-Socratic-discussion in Bukit Gasing, Petaling Jaya.
Selection Criteria
Our selection criteria is designed to select for future leaders with the following attributes:
- Passion for policy & politics, with a particular focus on social justice, good governance, ethics & democracy;
- Leadership potential demonstrated through peer leadership and organizational experience;
- Attitudes: Go-getter, bias-to-action, grit mindset;
- Intellectual curiosity, depth and rigour;
- Skills: Strong research, analysis, communication (writing, multimedia), organizational (events, administrative) skills
- Inclusive and culturally aware mindset.
